Cartridge Filters: You should replace the cartridge every 4-5 years. The material in the cartridge loses its porosity over time. Which means it won’t flow as much water as it used to. Media Filters: Typically referred to as a “Sand Change”, the media in your filter, whether it’s Sand or Zeolite (Zelbrite), will need to be replaced every 5-7 years.
