Salt Chlorinators

Salt Chlorinators

GOOD NEWS!!

We now have plenty of Premium Salt in stock at $15.00 per bag and the supply almost back to normal. There is no limit either.

So why is there a shortage of pool salt??

There are only 3 major producers of Salt in Australia. As expected, Covid 19 has affected staff levels for production as well as transportation over the last couple of years. Then, when the floods hit South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales in February, all of a sudden, every pool in those regions needed salt! Demand went through the roof and the producers could not meet the demand. Things are slowly coming back to normal. However, the latest flooding in New South Wales will put strain on the supply once more.

Types available…

When they were invented, salt chlorinators were very basic. You had to clean the cell plates at least once a month and not all units came with built in timers. Then came reverse polarity circuit boards for convenient self cleaning of the electrodes. Unfortunately, self-clean does not mean never clean. You may still need to clean the cell once a year. Nowadays we have units like the Viron range from AstralPool that use “switch mode” technology for power savings & reliability.

Which one…

There are so many brands and models in the market place today. If it is dirt cheap then it will be an inferior product. Good chlorinators rely on quality material for the cell plates not to mention superior electronics to give you high chlorine production and reliability. That’s why we sell and recommend the AstralPool range of Salt Chlorinators.
